Seriale asteptate in 2016: partea 1

1.The Shannara Chronicles
Debutul pe January 5 on MTV

Smallville creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are behind this adaptation of Terry Brooks' epic fantasy book series (drawing mainly from the second novel in the trilogy, The Elfstones of Shannara). Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Jonathan Liebesman (taking over from Jon Favreau, who remains as producer) directs the two-hour premiere, which was filmed on location in New Zealand

2.American Crime
Season 2 debuts January 6 on ABC

After winning an Oscar for his 12 Years a Slave screenplay, John Ridley returned to TV with American Crime, an anthology series that earned the praise of critics in its debut season. This second season (which temporarily displacesNashville on Wednesday nights) reboots the series with a new setting and story—involving a sexual assault scandal that ensnares two Indiana high schools—but returns much of last year's cast, including Felicity Huffman, Regina King, Timothy Hutton, and Lili Taylor. They're joined by newcomers including Hope Davis and OutKast's Andre Benjamin.
When we last left the hapless Todd Margaret (David Cross) back in 2012, he had just destroyed the world after making the last of his increasingly poor decisions that began with his moving to England from America. So how, exactly, is this IFC comedy series (now with a shortened title) returning for a third season? With a major twist, and a very, very different take on the characters. Co-stars Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe), Blake Harrison, and Will Arnett return, joined by Jack McBrayer.

4. Shadowhunters
 Debuts January 12 on Freeform

Freeform—the new name for the network formerly known as ABC Family—jumps into the fantasy genre for the first time with this adaptation of Cassandra Clare's young adult book series The Mortal Instruments (which was previously adapted—poorly—for the big screen in 2013). Originally expected to focus on the first novel (City of Bones, also the source for the movie), the 13-episode first season will instead draw from events throughout the book series and will also include new characters created by showrunner Ed Decter
5. Colony
Debuts January 14 on USA

USA Network's recent move into more ambitious programming (which has already produced the hit Mr. Robot) continues with this sci-fi thriller that reunites Lost writer-producer Carlton Cuse with star Josh Holloway. Set in a near-future Los Angeles that has been occupied and colonized by an advanced alien race—with human loyalties divided between cooperation and rebellion—Colony also stars Sarah Wayne Callies, Ally Walker, and Thora Birch. The network has been welcoming comparisons to Callies' previous show,The Walking Dead.
